What it does

Clear what is present without damaging your barrier.

The Acne Facial addresses active breakouts, clears congestion, and calms inflammation.

This treatment uses enzymatic exfoliation to dissolve buildup at the follicle, manual extractions to clear blocked pores properly, and a targeted calming protocol to close and protect your skin after.

Every step is selected based on your acne type, barrier status, and current skin state. Inflammatory acne, comedonal acne, cystic tendencies, and over-treated skin all present differently. The approach follows.

What to expect

Extractions are purposeful. The finish is calming.

The treatment runs approximately 60 minutes.

Enzymatic exfoliation is applied and given time to work. Extractions follow. They can be uncomfortable on active or congested skin, but the discomfort is brief and the clearing is worth it.

We do not rush extractions to reduce sensation. Done properly, they extract more completely and reduce the cycle of the same impaction returning.

After treatment, redness and mild sensitivity in extraction areas are normal and usually resolve within several hours. Skin often looks clearer within 24 to 48 hours.

First 24 hours

No actives, acids, or spot treatments. Let your skin settle.

Do not pick

The extraction work continues to resolve over the following days.

SPF

Wear sunscreen the next morning, especially on freshly cleared skin.

The first 24 to 48 hours

Keep your routine short and gentle while your skin settles.

Keep it simple

Gentle cleanser, a hydrator, and SPF. That's the whole routine for now. Nothing active, nothing exfoliating.

Expect some redness or warmth

A flush or warmth for a few hours, sometimes into the next day, is normal. So is feeling tight or slightly tender for 24 to 48 hours.

SPF every morning

Your skin is freshly exfoliated and more sun-sensitive. SPF is non-negotiable, especially after dermaplaning.

Hands off

If we did extractions, those spots may stay a little red for a day or two. Don't pick at them.

What to avoid

A few things will irritate freshly treated skin. Skip them while you heal.

Actives and scrubs

No retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, or physical scrubs for 3 to 5 days. They'll undo the calm we just built.

Heat and sweat

No hot showers, saunas, hard workouts, or makeup for 24 hours. Heat keeps the redness going.

Direct sun

Stay out of strong sun and always wear SPF. Sun on freshly exfoliated skin is how you trade a glow for a dark spot.

Picking

Leave extracted areas and any flaking alone. Picking is how you turn a treatment into a scar.

What's normal, and when to come back

Most people are back to feeling normal within a day or two, with the real glow showing up shortly after. Redness, mild tightness, and a little tenderness are all expected. What isn't expected: redness that's getting worse instead of better after 48 hours, swelling, blistering, or anything painful. If you see any of that, message us.

For visible correction, we plan facials as a series, usually every 4 to 6 weeks, which lines up with your skin's natural renewal cycle. One facial is a reset. A series is what changes your skin. We'll tell you exactly when to add your actives back in and when to come back in.
